WHAT'S NEW

January 24, 2012 - New routing technology and local road routing are being implemented in the Alberta TRAVIS permit issuing system. Which means you will no longer have to call the counties that are participating in this new routing system for their permits, it will all be done on one call.   It will state on the first page of your AB permit whether you are approved or still need to contact any counties.  Be prepared with a physical address or legal land location # for your origin and destination and a full route including highways and any local roads (these will consist of township and range roads, streets and avenues).  Please note that any current municipal fees for approvals and inspections will remain in place.  Counties on board with this system to date are County of Grande Prairie, City of Grande Prairie, County of Saddle Hills, the M.D. of Spirit River, City of Spruce Grove, Parkland County, Lacombe County, Vermilion River County, County of Woodlands, Town of Castor, Town of Falher, Town of Legal, Town of Beaverlodge, Town of Wembley, Town of Bashaw, Town of Spirit River, Town of Calmar, Town of St. Paul, County of Forty Mile, Village of Marwayne, Town of Coronation, Town of Crossfield, Village of Rosalind, M.D. of Willowcreek and the Town of Canmore.  Permit applications will be sent to them electronically by TRAVIS for approval instead of having to contact the county directly.

January 12, 2012 - At 12:01 am Saturday, Jan. 14th, Winter Period Weights will move further south.

December, 2011 -  Alberta Additional % road ban order is being updated.  Note: Tridem axle groups with an axle spread of 2.4 metres to less than 3 metres may be allowed up to, but shall not exceed 21,000 kgs on 90% axle weight road sections described in this order.

December 6, 2010 - We are adding an after core hours toll free phone number to better serve our clients.  When calling during these hours a message will be played stating the new # of 1.866.303.1972.

November 30, 2010 - We can now text your permit # directly to your cell phone for your added convenience.

April 14, 2008 - Alberta Transport has launched a new routing system and now requires a physical location for all single trip permits.  An address or legal land location # is required for your origin and destination.  Having this info speeds up the permit process significantly.
